Director of Aksaa
Kaushar is a Management and Training Consultant. He is the founder member and Director of Aksaa, specialising in delivering soft skills training and Islamic Cultural Awareness and Cultural Competency Training for public sector professionals.
He has held senior management positions in Health and Social Care fields and Regeneration programmes. He is a qualified Health and Social Care professional with experience in managing large and complex projects. He has served as a Non-Executive Director on the Primary Care Trust Board, Dewsbury College Board, and on the Police Authority Recruitment Panel and also served as a Lay member on the Employment Tribunal Panel in Leeds. He is a member of an independent Fostering Agency and until recently was also a member of the IRM Panel (Independent Review Mechanism) hearing fostering and adoption cases.
Kaushar has gained expertise in delivering a number of soft skills courses including race equality and diversity training and Islamic Cultural Awareness Training to Private and Public Sector professionals working across various Local and National Government Departments and the NHS.
Since the establishment of his company in the year 2004, over 19,500 people have attended the Islam course in over 80 different local authority locations across the UK with very positive feedback. He successfully delivered these courses in the USA, Canada, India, France, Sweden and Barbados.
He has been successfully delivering workshops on a number topics including: Leadership and Management; Personal Development & People Management; Business Ethics; Positive Parenting Skills; Supplementary School Training and Marriage Courses. Over 8,500 people have gone through these courses.
Kaushar is active in Muslim/Christian dialogue and champions inter-faith working. Until recently he has been Co-Chairman of North Kirklees Inter-faith; a membership of all faith communities and none, working together to achieve common goals and striving to achieve strong community cohesion. He has undertaken many short term assignments for relief agencies as part of the United Nations NGO consortium working on poverty alleviation, capacity building and sustainable projects. He is a speaker for Water Aid.
Kaushar is a qualified and accredited Mediator and is a former mediator for Yorkshire Mediation Service and doing mediation and conflict resolution work and training. He has been teaching International Business English; Business Communication and also Basic English to non-native speakers and participants who work in large Multi-National Companies from various European Countries, to help them in fluency and confidence in presenting in English to English speaking audiences. He also teaches PHSE to at a local Secondary School on an ad-hoc basis.
He holds an MSc in Social Sciences, a Professional Certificate in Management, a Social Work qualification and a diploma in Business and Management.
Kaushar is industrious and entrepreneurial. He has over the years developed many transferable skills and knowledge. He has undertaken the First Aid in Mental Health Course.
More recently he has been assisting the Local Authority Fostering and Adoption Department, Independent Fostering Agencies and Charities in recruiting Muslim Foster carers in 35 towns and cities across the UK. The outcome of has been very positive and there have been an increase in the number of interest from this community.
Kaushar is registered with HCPC – Health & Care Professions Council and has gained good counselling skills.
